Loye stars in Hong Kong
Lancashire's Mal Loye reached the maximum score of 31 twice as England progressed to the second stage of the 2006 Cathay Pacific/Standard Chartered Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes as one of the top six qualifiers.
England beat New Zealand by five wickets in their second match on the first day but they had gone down by 28 runs to South Africa in their first encounter.
Victory against the Kiwis ensured their safe passage to the second phase at the expense of New Zealand - who are confined to the bottom pool for the 6th 7th and 8th sides.
England went through to the Bradman group games with India and Pakistan as one of the top two in their pool.
South Africa, West Indies and Hong Kong qualify for the Sobers group matches while Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka reach the Cowdrey group as bottom three qualifiers.
England later went down by three runs to India in their first match of the Bradman group.
England play Pakistan early on Sunday to help determine their place in the Bradman group and teams finishing 3rd in each group play off for 5th / 6th places, 2nd in each group plays off for 3rd / 4th places and 1st in each group play in the final.
England have to beat Pakistan, who have two matches to play, convincingly and then hope some complicated mathematics gets them into the final.
