Children attending the npower Test match at Lord’s are being offered free identity wristbands in case they become separated from their parents or guardians whilst at the game.
Parents will be able to collect a free wristband for their child from any information kiosk, of which there are several around the ground. Relevant identity and contact details – plus seat numbers – can be written on these wristbands.
Alan Baxter, MCC head of security, believes the bands will provide peace of mind to parents when bringing their children to Lord’s.
“Children being separated from their parents is a relatively rare event, but if it does happen then this service means our stewards can reunite parents quickly and safely with their child,” he said.
The bands are made from durable Tyvek® which is a lightweight, discrete, waterproof & hypo-allergenic reinforced paper.
The scheme will be in operation during all matches at Lord’s, and also on days when large numbers of school parties are at the ground for other events.
On June 6, up to 5,000 children will be visiting Lord’s for the first time as part of an MCC and Chance to shine initiative, and all participants will be offered a wristband.
Children under 16 will also be able to get in free to Lord’s for the fifth day of the Test match between England and New Zealand.
Tickets will be available from the North Gate ticket sales point in Wellington Road from 9am, priced at £20 for adults and £10 for over 65s. Cash only.
