Yorkshire seamer Jason Gillespie will captain a Prime Minister's XI against England in a one-day game at Canberra on November 10.

The first Ashes Test starts in Brisbane on November 23 and Gillespie, who has played in 71 Tests for Australia, will be looking to impress his national selectors.

Gillespie will play alongside South Australia team-mate Shaun Tait as they vie for the third seamer position in the Test side with Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee certain selections for the first Test.

Worcestershire batsman Phil Jaques, former Somerset all-rounder Cameron White, Mark Cosgrove - who played for Glamorgan in 2006 - and Derbyshire's Travis Birt all feature in a strong selection.

Prime Minister's XI: J Gillespie (capt), C White (v-capt), T Birt, M Cosgrove, B Hilfenhaus, P Jaques, S Marsh, T Paine, A Ritchard, S Tait, A Voges.
