The initial allocation of tickets for India versus South Africa in Cardiff on June 6, the opening fixture of the Champions Trophy 2013, has sold out.

The heavyweight one-day international between the World Cup holders and the winners of the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998 has become the sixth game of the tournament taking place in England and Wales this June to sell out.

Tickets for England against New Zealand on Father's Day, June 16, and the June 20 semi-final, both at Cardiff, are still available. Any additional tickets that are released for currently sold-out fixtures will become available nearer the start of the competition.

Glamorgan president David Morgan said: "The opportunity to stage five prestigious ICC Champions Trophy fixtures in Cardiff is an exciting one. To be able to mark Glamorgan's 125th anniversary, with the world's best in action here, is a real accolade for Wales, and recognition for the successful way international cricket has been staged in Cardiff.

Cardiff is sold out for the Champions Trophy opener between World Cup holders India and South Africa on Thursday 6 June

"The fact that Cardiff will host England versus New Zealand during the tournament, 40 years on from when the two teams met in Swansea for the first international cricket match in Wales is also very fitting.

"I'm delighted to confirm the first match of the tournament in Cardiff on June 6 has sold out. With two games on weekends and affordable ticket prices for each fixture, I hope the tournament continues to appeal to cricket supporters across Wales and the west."

Champions Trophy tournament director Steve Elworthy said: "We know that because of the diversity of cultures in the United Kingdom each team taking part can be guaranteed home support and because the demand for tickets has been high we urge everyone to reserve their place at this special tournament as soon as possible.

"In a summer packed full of cricket, we've ensured that fans across can enjoy world-class cricket at exceptional value. A family of four can enjoy a day of fantastic cricket from just £50."

Hospitality for all matches can be purchased from £149 plus VAT per person from Glamorgan's hospitality team partner, visit www.glamorgancricket.com.

Champions Trophy tickets can be purchased at www.icc-cricket.com or via the ICC ticket hotline: 0844 249 2013. Any tickets that appear on secondary resale websites have broken the Champions Trophy's ticketing terms and conditions and will be cancelled without refund.

Tickets for England's NatWest Series ODI with Australia in Cardiff on Saturday 14 September are still available from www.glamorgancricket.com/tickets or through the ticket hotline 02920 419 311.
