Old Trafford Ashes tickets available soon
Tickets for next year’s Investec Ashes Test at Old Trafford, the third game of five, will go on general sale a week today.
The match from August 1-5 has already sold well to priority applicants. The remaining tickets are available to the public on Wednesday 10 October from 10am, along with those for September's NatWest Series one-day international with Australia.
Only a limited number remain for the first three days of the Test and supporters are urged to act promptly in order to avoid disappointment as tickets are expected to sell out shortly after going on general sale.
To book tickets call 0161 282 4040 or 08 444 999 666 or visit www.lccc.co.uk to order online.
Former England and Lancashire all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who played in the Manchester Ashes Test seven years ago, said: “Who could forget the last Ashes held at Old Trafford in 2005?
“It had everything ... drama, excitement, wickets, runs. Over 30,000 fans were locked out on that final day - that's something I will never forget.
“It's been a long time coming, but I for one cannot wait for the Ashes to come back to Old Trafford. I'm gutted not to be involved on the field but I'll certainly be there cheering the lads on.
“As we all know, the north west is a hotbed for sport and cricket is certainly no different.
“This time cricket fans will be able to watch all the excitement and drama in a brand new, redeveloped Old Trafford, which will be one of the best stadiums in the world.
“I'm sure tickets will sell like hot cakes, so I urge everyone not to miss out like those unlucky 30,000 fans on the final day in 2005.”
