Bicknell backs Read call-up
Nottinghamshire batsman Darren Bicknell has praised the international recall of team-mate Chris Read.
The wicket-keeper has been included in England's squad for the third Test against Pakistan in place of Geraint Jones.
Bicknell said: “Ready is a great kid, he works ever so hard.
“His batting has been fantastic, and his glovework is very good as well.”
However, the 39-year-old - who will retire from first-class cricket at the end of the season after 20 years - also gave his backing to Jones, who has been an integral part of Duncan Fletcher's squad for almost three years.
“I'm a fan of Geraint actually, he's a good kid but maybe a bit of time out of the limelight will do him good,” he continued.
“Ready deserves his chance, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hung onto it for quite a while.”
