Cardiff sets Ashes ticket date

Investec Test Series

Tickets for the eagerly-awaited first npower Ashes Test of 2009 at Cardiff will go on public sale on Monday November 3.

Ashes fever has well and truly descended on Cardiff and unsurprisingly, the demand for tickets for the England v Australia re-match has been unprecedented, not least, for the opening encounter in the five-match series, which takes place between July 8-12.

With the exceptional demand for tickets, the club is increasing its capacity with additional temporary seating.

This will result in a second on-sale date in the New Year, once the total number of additional seating has been confirmed.

Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell said: "As expected, the biggest box office event in cricket, the 1st npower Ashes Test match is a big hit.

“We want to give all our supporters the best possible chance of getting their hands on tickets. As a result, we are releasing over 6,000 tickets for general sale in November and a further 6,000 tickets in January.

“This will give as many fans as possible the chance to watch the biggest Cricket match ever to be played here in Wales."

Tickets for the Ashes Test in Cardiff will be released at 9am on November 3 and can be purchased by logging on to www.glamorgancricket.com or by calling a dedicated sales hotline on 0844 967 0701.

Glamorgan Cricket has also created a number of packages in which fans can guarantee their tickets.

These include purchasing a five or 10-year ticket, joining the Silver Club or purchasing a fully-ticketed hospitality package.

Supporters wishing to enquire about any of the packages listed above should call Glamorgan on 029 2041 9324.
