Day 2

England bowled India out for 295 but lost Alastair Cook and Sam Robson before the lunch break

England lost Ian Bell and Joe Root after lunch which meant Gary Ballance and Moeen Ali had to rebuild

Gary Ballance brought up his century after tea but he and Moeen Ali departed before stumps as India fought back

Day 3

Liam Plunkett scored his maiden Test half-century as England went past India's first innings total

Joe Root's stunning catch gave the Lord's crowd something to cheer but the afternoon session belonged to India

Liam Plunkett took two wickets in successive balls including the key scalp of Virat Kohli who was bowled first ball

Day 4

England took three wickets after lunch but Ravindra Jadeja's counter-attack swung the session back towards India

England finally dismissed India for 342 but there was disappointment before tea when Sam Robson was given out lbw

England endured a tough session where they lost Ballance, Bell and Cook to finish 105 for four

Day 5

A 101-run stand between Joe Root and Moeen Ali gave England a sniff of a day five victory at Lord's

England lost their final five wickets for just 25 runs as India recorded a famous win at Lord's
