Initial Cardiff Ashes tickets sell out
Glamorgan have announced its initial release of 6,000 tickets for the first npower Ashes Test at Cardiff has sold out in just a few hours.
The Welsh county will host its inaugural Test match, which starts on Wednesday 8 July, in the first of next summer’s five-match series against Australia.
Demand for tickets was enormous with Glamorgan's website receiving over 2.5 million hits in less than 24 hours.
A further release of 5,000 tickets will be made available early in January, allowing those supporters who were unsuccessful today a further opportunity to purchase tickets. Tickets for day five will also be available in January.
Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell said: "This was always going to be a hugely popular event and we are thrilled that demand for tickets is so high.
"With the additional temporary seating being installed over the coming months, we will be able to satisfy many of those that missed out today."
