Guptill back for Black Caps
New Zealand have been boosted by the return of Martin Guptill for their forthcoming tour of England.
The Black Caps head to these shores for an extended period, with the Champions Trophy following two Tests, three one-day internationals and two Twenty20s against England.
Guptill helped steer the Black Caps to victory in the first ODI on the recent reverse rubber, only to suffer hamstring and thumb injuries.
He required surgery on the latter and subsequently missed the final two ODIs and three-Test series, which was drawn 0-0.
His inclusion in the five-day party comes as a boost to a Black Caps side still shorn of premier left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori.
However, the good news is that New Zealand's former skipper will feature in the limited-overs legs of the tour as well as the Champions Trophy.
Other than Guptill's inclusion and the addition of seamer Mark Gillespie, New Zealand's Test squad shows no changes from the group that could not force a positive result in the home series against England.
The limited-overs touring party includes Wellington wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi, who has previously played seven internationals for Australia.
New Zealand national selection manager Kim Littlejohn said: "The ODI squad has a core group of players who have now played in a number of international tournaments and bring a wealth of experience.
“Having Daniel Vettori back in the side adds to that and we're really excited to have someone of his quality back in the team.
“Luke Ronchi gets his chance after impressing on the domestic scene. We know how dangerous he is and look forward to seeing him display his talents on the international stage.”
