Oval Test tickets selling fast
Days two and three of the npower Test between England and India at the Kia Oval have sold out.
Combined with the pre-Christmas sell-out of the NatWest Series one-day international between the same sides, it means three of the seven days of international cricket at the ground this year have sold out.
With the Test likely to be Sachin Tendulkar’s last in England, tickets for the remaining days are already limited and likely to sell quickly, so anybody wanting to see the Little Master’s farewell is advised to buy now to avoid disappointment.
Those wanting to attend any of the sold out days are advised to consider the hospitality options offered at the ground which begin from just £165+VAT per person and include free food and drink alongside an excellent view of the action. Tickets for June’s NatWest Series encounter between England and Sri Lanka - the hosts’ first 50-over cricket after the World Cup - are also selling rapidly with advance purchase again being strongly recommended for those wanting to secure a seat.
Surrey chief executive Paul Sheldon said: “This is not a great surprise to us because we had such strong demand for the one-day international in September which sold out 10 months ahead of time.
“Now we urge people to get in and buy their tickets for the first and fourth day otherwise they’re not going to see this great Indian team with talisman Tendulkar leading the show in probably his last Test match in this country.”
