Pakistan seamer Umar Gul makes his way off the Edgbaston outfield after pulling up with a suspected torn hamstring

Pakistan seamer Umar Gul has been ruled out of the remainder of the second npower Test at Edgbaston with a torn hamstring.

Gul removed Jonathan Trott early this afternoon, but later limped off after aborting his run-up at the start of an over.

He was sent for a scan on the injury and Pakistan were expecting to know this evening whether he can play again on this tour.

"Gul has gone for an MRI, he has a torn hamstring," said Pakistan manager Yawar Saeed. "He will play no further part in this match."
