Bairstow freed up for county duty

Jonny Bairstow has been released from England’s squad for the final game of the NatWest Series against Australia.

The 22-year-old batsman was not called upon as Alastair Cook’s men opened up a 3-0 lead in the five-match rubber.

Ahead of tomorrow’s series finale at Old Trafford, the ECB has confirmed Bairstow will be allowed to rejoin Yorkshire ahead of their LV= County Championship Division Two fixture against Hampshire, which starts on Wednesday.
