Dimitri Mascarenhas will join the squad tonight as the England management monitor Luke Wright's toe injury
Dimitri Mascarenhas has been called into England’s NatWest Series squad as cover for the injured Luke Wright.
Wright received stitches after being struck on the toe while batting against a bowling machine at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough today.
The Sussex all-rounder, who played in each of the first four games of the series against Australia, is a doubt for tomorrow’s day-night encounter at Trent Bridge, prompting England to call for Mascarenhas.
The Hampshire captain and all-rounder featured in England's NatWest Series win over West Indies earlier this summer, but was overlooked for the games against Australia. He will join the squad tonight.
