Andrew Flintoff was withdrawn from the squad after it was confirmed he would undergo knee surgery in the wake of England's Ashes success. Graham Onions was later named as his replacement.

Dimitri Mascarenhas was called into the squad on the eve of the fifth match as cover for Luke Wright, who injured a toe during practice. After the game, Wright was ruled out of the remainder of the series.
