TwelfthMan: My account
Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Matt Prior and Jacques Kallis will all be sporting red, green and white bat grips for the fifth NatWest Series one-day international at the SWALEC Stadium today to show their support for Chance to shine.
The quartet will raise awareness for the Cricket Foundation’s campaign to regenerate competitive cricket in the country’s state schools.
Slazenger - a premier partner for Chance to shine – has supported the campaign since it launched three years ago, supplying coaching equipment and clothing to schools and clubs as well as highlighting the programme through its use of sponsored players.
The company has arranged for its brand ambassadors to use the special bat grips in the match between England and South Africa to mark the 200,000th child this year to benefit from Chance to shine.
The charity is delivering comprehensive coaching and competition to 1,850 primary and secondary schools and aims to engage two million boys and girls in a third of state schools over 10 years.
Cricket fans can now buy the limited edition Chance to shine bat grip at the charity’s online retailing site www.chancetoshop.co.uk, with all profits going to Chance to shine.
