Collingwood pushes Cardiff tickets

Paul Collingwood, whose 74 helped avert an Ashes defeat at Cardiff last year, hopes for a similar atmosphere there in September
World Twenty20-winning captain Paul Collingwood has urged fans to get behind England when they take on Pakistan in the NatWest International T20 series in Cardiff on September 5 and 7.
Collingwood spoke of his enthusiasm about returning to the Welsh capital with Glamorgan expecting capacity crowds at the SWALEC Stadium.
"I'll always remember the fantastic atmosphere generated by the crowd in Cardiff during the first npower Ashes Test match last year,” he said.
“The support we got from the fans gave the team a huge boost, and I know that I speak on behalf of the rest of the lads when I say we're all looking forward to returning to Cardiff in September for the NatWest T20 series against Pakistan."
The two-match series sees a battle between the current and former World Twenty20 champions, and has captured the imagination of the Welsh sporting public with less than half of the tickets now remaining.
With tickets for juniors priced at just £5 and adult tickets starting at £40, fans are being encouraged to buy in advance to avoid missing out.
Glamorgan cricket chief executive officer Alan Hamer said: “Over the past two years, the SWALEC Stadium has hosted a number of high-profile internationals and we now look forward to the first Twenty20 international to be played in Wales.
“Following England’s success in the ICC World Twenty20 cup and Pakistan’s recent Twenty20 victories over Australia, the two-match series is sure to see some exciting cricket and due to the nature of Twenty20 cricket, the atmosphere within the SWALEC Stadium will be fantastic.”
The games takes place on Sunday September 5, with a 2.30pm start, and Tuesday September 7, with 6pm start, and tickets can be bought:
- online at www.glamorgancricket.com
- by calling the club’s ticket hotline number 02920 419 380
- in person by calling in to the SWALEC Stadium between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday
