Test match cricket returns to Cardiff next May, following the 2009 Ashes Test which was the first to be staged in Wales

Tickets for England’s Test and one-day international at Cardiff next summer went on public sale at 9am today.

England begin their home 2011 programme with an npower Test against Sri Lanka, which starts on Thursday 26 May.

They return to Cardiff for their final game of the summer - a NatWest Series one-day international versus India on Friday 16 September 2011 with a 2pm start.

Glamorgan Cricket members have already snapped up many tickets during their priority booking period, with both matches expected to generate a strong interest.

Glamorgan Cricket chief executive Alan Hamer said: “After last year’s memorable first Ashes Test match, Test cricket makes a welcome return to Cardiff next year when England take on Sri Lanka in the first home Test match of the summer.

“With adult ticket prices starting from just £25 and junior tickets just £10, we are providing high quality Test match cricket at an affordable price.

“England then end their home international programme, by taking on one-day kings India in a floodlit one-day international.

“As expected, our ticket office has already been inundated with enquiries for this match and I would urge anyone interested in coming to this match to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

“Adult tickets start at just £40 and junior tickets are priced at £10.”

Tickets can be purchased online at or by phone on 02920 419380.
