London Bridges Walk

The CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund, in association with Surrey County Cricket Club, is holding a fundraising ‘London Bridges Walk’ on Sunday August 27.

The walk commences at 10am at the Tower of London, with Surrey's Martin Bicknell at the starting line to get the event underway.

The six-mile route takes in some of the best sights along the Thames, including HMS Belfast, the London Eye and Big Ben, crossing nine bridges from Tower Bridge to Vauxhall Bridge and finishing at The Brit Oval.

Participants are then invited to watch the Surrey v Yorkshire NatWest Pro40 match free of charge and join a special reception in the OCS stand with Surrey players both past and present.

All entrants receive a goody bag, entry to the raffle and can take part in an interactive quiz en route.

Bicknell said: “This will be a great family day out, where adults and kids alike can stroll along the Thames at their own pace, whilst raising money for the CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund.

"As well as the £5 entry fee, extra money can be raised with sponsorship which goes towards creating a support centre in London for families with life-limited children in Ben Hollioake’s memory.”

CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund:

The Fund was set up after the death of England and Surrey cricketer Ben Hollioake and aims, in association with CHASE hospice care for children, to raise money to create a centre in London that will enable expansion of the support that CHASE offers to families with life-limited children.

CHASE is a children's hospice service which exists to provide a network of care to families with life-limited children and young people in SW London, Surrey and Sussex. CHASE focuses on support for the whole family at home, recognising the value of nurturing and growing family culture within their own communities.

Families are also welcomed and supported at our children's hospice, called Christopher’s, just outside Guildford.
