Durham and Hants clash again

Durham’s Under-17 side has reached the final of the ECB U17 County Championship to be played at Hove on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 against Hampshire, in a replay of the Friends Provident Trophy Final in August.

Durham’s Under-17s won the north division one and Sunderland born captain Scott Borthwick made crucial contributions throughout alongside all-rounder Ben Stokes.

This will be Durham’s first final in the competition’s current format.

Durham coach John Windows said: “The team has played particularly well with a very young side where everyone has played their part in our success.

“There is a great team ethic, set by the first team, which runs throughout the club, and this side really buy into that concept.”
