U15 County Championship shared after wash-out

Surrey were denied the opportunity to defend the Lord's Taverners Under 15 County Championship that they won in 2003 when torrential rain washed out play at Oundle School.

Yorkshire and Wales had also won their Area Division 1 competitions to reach the Play-Off Festival.

Tuesday's match between the North Champions, Yorkshire, and Wales from the West Area, never looked like starting after a monsoon the previous evening and continuing rain during the day.

Wednesday's fixture between the South Area winners, Surrey, and Yorkshire was about to start after herculean efforts by the groundstaff when a further heavy storm flooded the ground and the Festival was abandoned.

The County Championship was therefore shared by Surrey, Yorkshire and Wales.
