Roses final in U15 County Cup
Lancashire and Yorkshire won their respective U15 County Cup semi-finals at Oakham School to set up the first ever Roses Final in an ECB age-group competition.
The semis were played at Oakham School on Tuesday August 11 in glorious sunshine, a welcome change from the rain of the previous week that had blighted the U13 and U14 finals.
Lancashire disposed of Essex in style on the Wilson Ground. Lancashire amassing 246 for nine in their 50 overs with Alex Davies top scoring with 69. Essex struggled througout and were bowled out for 159 with Gavin Griffiths taking 4-18.
On the main school ground at Doncaster Close, Yorkshire convincingly beat Wiltshire by nine wickets. Wiltshire were restricted to 139 for nine in their 50 overs.
After losing a quick wicket Yorkshire were led to victory by I Amjad (63 not out) and T Kohler-Cadmore (50 not out), the pair adding an unbeaten 132 for the second wicket.
The stage was set for the first ever Roses Final in an ECB age-group competition on the Doncaster Close ground at Oakham on Wednesday August 12.
