Three-way title chase still on
Kent and Lancashire recorded victories on day two of the U15 County Championship play-off festival at Oundle School to boost their title hopes.
Going into the final day’s matches, both sides topped the table with 26 points; with Lancashire set for a tense Roses match with Yorkshire, while Kent were set to take on Wales.
Day one saw both matches washed out- Lancashire v Kent and Wales v Yorkshire, with all the sides settling for six points each.
But the weather improved for day two, with both the teams fielding first going on to post wins.
Yorkshire were bowled out for 144 by Kent, who made 148 for seven to win by three wickets and grab 20 points.
Lancashire fared similarly, making 78 for five to pass Wales’ 77. Yorkshire’s four bonus points picked up to two for Wales meant the former also had a chance of capturing the title should they win and Kent lose.
