Leamington Cricket Club’s junior sections are enjoying a tremendous season, winning the Under-13 and Under-15 County Cups.
The U13 winning team beat Walmley on Friday night at Leamington CC by nine runs in a great game, with Toby Inskip man of the match.
Leamington will now represent Warwickshire in the Midlands finals at Colwall Cricket Club on Sunday having beaten the Gloucestershire winners in a play-off.
In 2004 Leamington were the U13 MCC Spirit of Cricket Cup National Champions with a team which included Paul Best. Paul’s younger brother, Mark, will now see if he can replicate his brother’s achievement in helping his club to win national honours.
The U15s overcame Harborne in the U15 County Nationwide Cup Final with an emphatic 10-wicket win and will now play the Oxfordshire winners on Sunday.
Leamington Under-11 are in the Junior Bears U11 League final to be held at Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Colts Ground on Monday. Their opponents will be Sutton Coldfield who will be dong their best to stop Leamington completing the treble.
