Derbyshire Over-50s make history
Derbyshire became the first club to retain the ECB Over-50s County Championship title courtesy of a four-wicket win over Lancashire at Kibworth Cricket Club.
Lancashire were indebted to 61 from opener Glen Bullock as they posted 184 for seven from 45 overs. Dave Bartholomew added 35, before an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 31 between skipper Alan Whiston and Mel Whittle boosted the total.
Derbyshire captain Dave Tee returned 2-37 from nine overs and then made a sizeable contribution with the bat.
His 72 aided victory with five deliveries to spare, Malcolm Mason having shared in a 77-run partnership for the third wicket.
