Madisons bag third National Indoor title
Madisons regained the National Indoor Six-a-Side Club Championship title they lost to Sudbrook last year with a comfortable 22-run win in the 2004 Final.
Played for the first time at the new ECB Cricket Academy Centre in Loughborough, Madisons from Northamptonshire scored 100 for two in their alloted 12 overs.
Opener Rob Williams scored 27 not out, which, along with his unbeaten 30 earlier in the semi-final, earned him the Player of the Day award. Richard Dalton scored 26 not out and his run-out throw in the final and overall fielding led him to being named as Fielder of the Day.
Sudbrook struggled to maintain the required run-rate and lost wickets at regular intervals, including two in two balls, which all but put paid to their quest to overhaul the Madisons score.
They lost their sixth wicket from the final ball of their innings to give Madisons their third National title in five years.
In the semi-finals, Canterbury - who like the finalists were playing in their second successive National Finals Day - lost to Sudbrook while Madisons easily beat newcomers Sandyford from Staffordshire by 45 runs.
