Champagne James wins the game
Oulton Park won the Cheshire Cricket League’s Cockspur Club Twenty20 competition for the first time when they beat Hyde in a thrilling final by six wickets off the last ball at a packed Upton ground on Sunday.
Hyde were held to a modest 107 for nine, then Oulton were pegged back by tight bowling and fielding before needing 13 off the last over, Nick James winning it with a six.
Rick Moore was named man of the match by the umpires for his all-round performance and the Champagne Moment award nominated by competition organiser Mike Talbot-Butler was won by James for his last-gasp six.
