Rain denies Bournemouth and South Wilts

Ecb U15 National Club Championship

Poor weather means Bournemouth and South Wilts will have to wait until Sunday to see which of them will reach the national finals of the Nationwide U15 National Club Championship.

The two sides were scheduled to meet in the regional final at Weston-Super-Mere but the rain intervened after 19 overs of the South Wilts innings forcing an abandonment.

Earlier in the day South Wilts eased to a comfortable eight-wicket win in their semi-final over St Fagans, who reached 115 for seven from their 20 overs.

Bournemouth beat Paignton in their semi-final by 22 runs after racking up 137 for five.

The winner of the rearranged match will travel to the national finals which take place at Kibworth on Thursday 21 August.

In the regional final played at Leamington, Wolverhampton beat Kibworth to win through to the national finals.

After bowling the Leicestershire side out for 88, Wolverhampton lost just four wickets as they batted their way to victory.

In the semi-finals, Wolverhampton coasted past hosts Leamington by eight wickets while Kibworth beat Cambridge Granta by 47 runs having scored 93 for nine.
