Hardworking Featherstone rewarded

Featherstone Town CC from West Yorkshire are the latest cricket club to be awarded YCB Focus Club status.

The Yorkshire Cricket Board now have 91 Focus Clubs who are working hard in community clusters which includes schools and key partners, to increase participation and improve performance and are delighted to award Featherstone CC to this status.

John Newnham of Featherstone said:" Becoming a Focus Club will hopefully increase our membership, and improve our facilities (being in a much stronger position to apply for funding).

"Having working partnerships with local schools will give many youngsters the opportunity to join our already successful junior section. In general we want to so much improve our club, by promoting and making it available to everyone."

Andrew Watson from YCB said:"We are absolutely delighted to award YCB Focus Club status to Featherstone Town. They have worked so very hard over the last few years to help develop cricket in the Featherstone and surrounding areas and are continuingly improving. We wish to congratulate them on becoming the latest YCB Focus Club and wish them every success."
