Berkshire thrash Wiltshire
Chris Peploe and Richard Logan shared 16 wickets as champions Berkshire boosted their Minor Counties Championship Western Division credentials with a crushing win over Wiltshire.
Peploe and Logan claimed four wickets in both the hosts’ innings - Wiltshire only made 60 first time round - to secure victory by an innings and 35 runs.
The visitors opted to bat first and posted 331 for six in 90 overs thanks to an opening stand of 142 from David Barnes (75) and Dan Shilvock (70) plus Logan’s dashing 50 not out from 28 balls.
Wiltshire slumped to 46 for five at the close on day one and could only add 15 for their last five wickets, Peploe with 4-5. Following on, they regained some respectability thanks to Michael Coles’ 106 in their 236 all out.
