Cheshire flying high
The final day of Cheshire's Minor Counties Championship clash against Herefordshire was washed out at Eastnor Cricket Club.
It means that Cheshire, who gained 12 points from the draw, maintain their place in top spot going into their final game against Cornwall at Nantwich Cricket Club on August 17-19.
Second placed Berkshire's game against Oxfordshire also finished in a draw at Banbury after rain prevented any play on the third day, while it was the same situation at Bournemouth where Dorset were playing Cornwall.
Cheshire went into the game against lowly Herefordshire with a five-point lead at the top, but team manager Sandy Scrimgeour was hopeful that the advantage may have been extended by a couple of points.
"We are not sure what the situation is," he said on Tuesday. "We got maximum points and the others may not have done. It will be between five and seven points."
