Dominant Devon ease to victory
Devon produced an impressive all-round performance to defeat Wiltshire by eight wickets in their MCCA Trophy match at Instow.
The visitors, who lost opening bowler Andy Sutton to injury prior to the match, opted to bat first upon winning the toss but were duly dismissed for just 119 in 43 overs.
Neil Hancock was the pick of the Devon attack with 3-27 from 10 overs, while Ian Bishop, Trevor Anning and Scott Barlow each chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Opener Tom Morton top-scored with 26 for Wiltshire, with Joe Breet the only other batsman to pass 20.
Devon made light work of their modest target and secured victory with more than 30 overs to spare, thanks largely to Rob Woodman’s 67 at the top of the order.
