Griffiths spins Herefordshire to win
Left-arm spinner Charlie Griffiths took 11 wickets, including a first-innings hat-trick, to help Devon to their first three-day win in five years - against Devon in the Minor Counties Championship at Eastnor CC.
Griffiths’ hat-trick wrapped up Devon’s 343, in which opener Matthew Thompson top-scored with 122, and gave the spinner first-innings figures of 6-77 from 30.4 overs.
Former Gloucestershire wicketkeeper Steve Adshead made 110 in Herefordshire’s reply, adding 115 for the fourth wicket with Atiq-ur-Rehman - who hit 80.
However, seamer Trevor Anning’s 5-28 from 10.2 overs secured a 77-run first-innings lead for Devon.
Griffiths, though, soon brought the match back into the balance as his 5-40 in 21 overs left Herefordshire chasing 234 for victory.
And Adshead’s 86 plus 64 from Faisal Shahid laid a platform from which their side comfortably secured victory.
