Norfolk and Cambridgeshire’s Minor Counties Championship game in hand ended in a rain-ruined draw at Horsford, with only one innings each possible.

Having chosen to bat first, Cambridgeshire made 161 over two days. Former Nottinghamshire and Surrey batsman Darren Bicknell top-scored with 50 while Michael Eccles and Chris Brown shared eight economical wickets.

Sam Arthurton’s 63 helped the hosts to 177 for seven in reply as Paul McMahon returned 5-66 from 37 overs, but the final day of three was washed out.

The result has Cambridgeshire fourth in the Eastern Division, led by Cumberland, and Norfolk seventh.
