Rain benefits Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire, helped by Duckworth-Lewis, inflicted a third successive defeat on Herefordshire in their MCCA Trophy clash at Radley College.
The hosts were declared the winners, on 57 for three off 14.4 overs, in reply to Herefordshire’s 138 all out.
Herefordshire were in early trouble at seven for two, but Steve Adshead, the former Gloucestershire wicketkeeper-batsman, rescued the innings with a vital 66. Luke Ryan was the pick of Oxfordshire’s bowlers, picking up 4-13.
The visitors took three wickets before the first rain interruption on 43, with Herefordshire in front on D/L by one run.
Two further interruptions did not help Herefordshire’s cause, leaving Oxfordshire ahead by nine runs when the match was abandoned at 5.50pm. Richard Kaufman seemed well set on 20 not out.
Herefordshire complete their group fixtures with a home match against Hertfordshire at Colwall on Sunday.
