Rain strikes at Herefordshire
Herefordshire's final MCCA Trophy Group Three match against Bedfordshire was abandoned after just 13 overs due to the inclement weather.
Overnight rain and light mid-morning drizzle saw a delayed start at Eastnor and when play eventually got underway, Herefordshire who had won the toss and elected to bat, had reached 56 for one after 13 overs.
Craig Wood and Steve Adshead were unbeaten on 15 and 23 respectively before the heavens opened once more and play was halted. The players took an early lunch but with no sign of the rain abating the umpires had no alternative to call the match off with both teams picking up a point.
Herefordshire will now entertain Cumberland, who beat holders Shropshire by six wickets courtesy of the Duckworth-Lewis Method and so finished above Cheshire on net run-rate, on Sunday June 19 at Brockhampton.
