Slough hosts Minor Counties final

Cheshire went through the championship season unbeaten, a feat matched by Buckinghamshire, their opponents this week

Cheshire and Buckinghamshire will contest the Minor Counties Championship final at Slough CC this week.

The respective winners of the Western and Eastern Divisions will meet in a four-day contest starting on Sunday to decide who are crowned champions.

There appears to be little to choose between the sides, both having gone through the regional part of the competition unbeaten.

Cheshire lifted the trophy as recently as 2007, but Buckinghamshire have not tasted success since 1987.
