New guidance on wearing of helmets for young players

ECB have announced that changes have been made to the guidance on young players wearing helmets.

Two changes are to be implemented for 2009 season.

1) Young wicket keepers will be allowed to wear a face mask if they wish to do so or continue to use a helmet as they are currently required to

2) Parental consent not to wear a helmet is now no longer allowed and all Under 18 players must wear a helmet when batting.
