Brentwood take a bashing
Leaders Brentwood crashed to their first Shepheard Neame Essex Premier League defeat of the season when they were dismissed for 91 and beaten by five wickets by Colchester & East Essex.
Only Paul Ayres (40) shone for Brentwood while Colchester's match winner Joe Austin followed up a three-wicket haul with a key 45.
Ejaz Khan (51) propped up Gidea Park & Romford's 146 for six but Wanstead won by five wickets.
Ardleigh Green were indebted to Gamesh Gunalan (55 not out) as they lost eight wickets overhauling Hainault & Clayhall's 207 for eight (Irfan Shah 50), while Steve Wright (72) played the match winning role as Upminster passed Woodford Wells' 199 for eight (Rob Leiper 61) with seven down.
Chelmsford (217 for seven) beat South Woodford by (125) by 92 runs.
