Last gasp scrap for Sandiacre and Ockbrook
The final weekend of the Beechwood Motor Group Derbyshire Premier League looks set to be a tense 'seat of your pants' affair after both Ockbrook and Sandiacre took maximum points in the last round to keep the title race alive to very end.
At the bottom, Aston are all but down but Quarndon grabbed a draw at Alfreton to put Rolls Royce, who lost at Ilkeston back into the drop zone; it looks like one of those two for the second relegation place now.
Ockbrook took 27 points from their visit to Dunstall, after making 210 for seven in their 50 overs. Matt Cassar hit 41 and Matt Linekar made 83 whilst Scott Chilman finished with figures of 5-48 for Dunstall.
The host were 58 all out in 24.2 overs. Kevin Dean took 5-26 and Neil Smith finished with 4-16 giving Dunstall only 3 points.
Sandiacre also took 27 points from their tie with Alvaston and Boulton having posted 209 for seven after 50 overs with performances from Ant Woolley with 61 and Ian Parkin hitting 51.
Gregoire took 3-37 for Alvaston and Boulton who only managed 4 points from the meeting. A and B were 158 all out in 44.2 overs, Yasser Tariq hit 34 with G Hussain making 41 and Ian Parkin finishing with figures of 4-26.
Aston were left without a point away at Chesterfield. The visitors made 94 before being bowled out in 27.5 overs. Abdul Rehman hit 30; however the Chesterfield bowling looked strong with Luke Thomas taking 3-22 and Ross Whitley finishing with 3-44.
Chesterfield took 22 points from the tie reaching their target in 17.1 overs. The side were 100-1 with Alex Hibbert unbeaten on 41 and Ben Slater not out 37.
Rolls Royce took 3 points away from Ilkeston. The visiting side were 95 all out in 48.5 overs. Ian Banks took 3-15 assisted by Robert Green with 3-26 for Ilkeston.
The hosts then reached their target in 18.1 overs making 99-6. David Smit hit an unbeaten 34 and Zain Abbas finished with figures of 5-47, however this was not enough to prevent Ilkeston taking 22 points.
Lullington were 163 all out in 47.3 overs at Spondon with scores coming from Andrew Goodwin with 48 and Richard Green hitting 38.
Chris Windmill took 4-5 for Spondon along with Joe Ashdown with 3-80. Spondon then replied with 165 for four in 44.4 overs. Dave Heartley hit 49 and Simon Hill was not out for 63.
Alfreton made 16 points from their tie with Quarndon. The hosts were 201 for five with contributions coming from John Aspinall with 56 and Tom Bentley hitting 33 not out. Quarndon took nine points from the trip reaching 180 for eight in their 50 overs.
Paul Borrington made a total of 41 and Ben Slater finished with figures of 3-43 for Alfreton.
