North Wales Premier League 2007 champions Llandudno were in no mood for a ramble at Wrexham when a resounding ten wicket victory over Brymbo edged them to the top of the table with three points separating the top three sides.
Challengers Mochdre CC and Menai Bridge both had their games cancelled as the weather once again proved to be a major influence arriving late in the day to cause the abandonment of several key matches.
The Seasiders collected 25 points for their endeavours after Jonathan Gallagher (5-30) and Graham Bowes (4-12) ravaged Brymbo and restricted them to a modest 69 total which was achieved easily without loss, Duncan Midgeley making 47 not out and Steve Smith (18 not out).
Pre season favourites Pontblyddyn were beaten by St Asaph in a surprise outcome at Elwy Grove Park. The visitors were put into bat and dismissed for 84 with David North taking 4-17. Despite a steady spell from Charles Fernando (4-40), St Asaph reached the target in 29.3 overs with five wickets to spare.
