Ockbrook invincible at top
Ockbrook & Borrowash stretched their lead at the top of the Beechwood Derbyshire Premier League after rain wiped out most of the fixtures and handicapped bids from their rivals to close the gap.
Ockbrook made 218 for five off the rain reduced 38 overs on a bone dry pitch at Victoria Avenue with Matt Linekar posting a promising 75 and Jonny Owen offering excellent support with 57.
England Under 19 and Derbyshire's Jake Needham finished unbeaten on 34. Sandiacre replied with just 86 for the loss of seven wickets in 38 overs, which secured 18 points for the hosts and just three for the visitors.
Dunstall managed 12 points scoring 117 for seven away at Aston. In the reduced 25 overs, the visitors were led by Carl Eyden who top scored on 45, Mazzer Quayyum finished with figures of 3-34 for Aston.
In reply, Aston made six points reaching 83 for six in the limited overs. Craig Jennings took 3-16 for the visitors to give them 12 points.
Their winning draw moves them to within 16 points of Sandiacre in third place. All the other teams took five points each from their cancelled matches.
