Thomas ton saves St Just

Gary Thomas struck a boundary in the final over to reach his hundred and steer St Just to a thrilling two wicket win over Falmouth with two balls of the match to spare.

In the Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League match, runaway championship favourites St Just had slipped to 87 for five before Mark George (48) added 95 for the sixth wicket with Thomas who ended on 103 not out, including 15 fours.

Dave Neville took a couple of late wickets but with nine needed off the last over Thomas and Adam Barrett, with a boundary off the fourth ball, secured victory.

Antony Angove took 3-67. Earlier Falmouth opener Adrian Noott made 115 before being dismissed off the last ball.

Larry Martin made 47 not out adding 107 for the seventh wicket while George took 4- 54.

Truro maintained second spot after sweeping to a seven wicket win at Paul in a game that was over by tea-time. Paul reached 23 before losing Craig Osborne for 17. Then four wickets fell for just one run with Aaron Pennell getting rid of Ryan Edwards and Justin Stephens while Tom Hyslop was run out.

Wickets continued to fall with only Kelvin Snell (21) getting double figures as Paul were dismissed in the 38th over for 72. Pennell took 5-28 from 15.1 overs and Chris Phillips 3-10.

Tom Sharp opened the Truro innings and carried his bat making 44 with nine boundaries. Chris Martin and Ben Price went cheaply with Alex Tunnadine making 12 before being out shortly before victory was gained.

Werrington were held to a draw at Grampound Road after making 246 for eight. Mark Howell carried his bat reaching 100 not out off the last ball. Mark Hodgson hit 58 with Lewis Sanders and Chris Hunkin taking three wickets apiece.

Martin Roberts made 34 and Jamie Trudgeon 22 after Chris Hunkin hit 27 in the 'Road's 137 for eight in their 55 overs. Joel Keenan took 3-16 and Darren Johns 2-26.
