Top trio extend Cornwall lead
The top three teams in the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League - Truro, Paul and Callington - all won to extend their advantage.
Truro won in quick time at home to Troon, who were bowled out for 81 with Alex Taylor taking 5-27. Truro replied with 84 for two.
Paul had to dig deep to win at St Austell by three wickets. St Austell made 204 for nine with Taylor Williams making 98. Paul made 208 for seven with Kelvin Snell 58 not out.
Callington beat Grampound Road by 104 runs clinching victory off the fourth ball of the last over. Jake Libby made 83 in Callington’s 260 for eight with Chris Hunkin taking 5-51. Grampound Road were 156 all out.
The St Just v Werrington game was drawn. St Just made 224 with Gary Thomas making 79. Werrington reached 138 for eight.
In the bottom of the table clash Falmouth recovered to beat Newquay by six wickets. Newquay made 129 all out. Falmouth replied with 132 for four with Antony Angove 78 not out.
