The Surrey Championship followed the Southern and Cornwall Premier Leagues in trialling a split format season where half of the matches are 50 overs a side win or lose.

The other half of matches are 120 overs win lose or draw format. This format challenges all players in both formats of the game and provides more players with an opportunity to participate in a season of matches owing to the bowling restrictions placed on teams in the 50 over format.

The Shepherd Neame Surrey Championship Team beat the Southern Electric Premier League at Totton and Eling Cricket Club to reach the final of the Club Cricket Conference Premier Leagues Cup. Jono McLean scored an excellent 104 out of 266 in reply for the hosts scored 194.

The winners of either Middlesex League or East Anglian Premier League await.
