A familiar pattern of championships being decided without a ball being bowled extended to the Nottinghamshire Premier League where West Indian Cavaliers retained their title for the fourth time in five years despite a total wash out.
With one match to go this coming weekend, the Cavaliers, who were due to play Clifton at home on Saturday before heavy rain spread through the Midlands, have an unassailable 27 point lead over rivals Kimberley and even before their fixture against bottom of the table Gedling, the Cavs can start celebrating.
Every match in the Notts Premier League was cancelled due to the weather but Gedling and Killamarsh have now been relegated with South Notts League champions Attenborough and Bassetlaw League winners Farnsfield taking their place.
