Chance To Shine Festival

Five schools provided eight teams for the fourth annual Chance the shine Festival

Simon Langton Girls Grammar School 'A' team celebrated after winning the fourth Chance to shine Festival.

The school emerged victorious after beating Folkestone School for Girls 'A' by 25 runs in the final, their 255 for three too much for their opponents.

Simon Langton completed a double when their pupil Olivia Barber was nominated the player of the festival. Brockhill Park 'A' won the plate competition.

All five schools that took part - some fielded two teams for a total of eight sides - received trophies and £200 of cricket equipment.

There were further awards for the best players from each school:

Brockhill Park - Natalie Judge
Folkestone Academy - Alice Gooding
Folkestone School for Girls - Sharelle Holdsworth
Pent Valley - Lauren Shrewsbury
Simon Langton Girls Grammar - Isabel Goodenham
