Further to an ECB Cricket Committee recommendation, it is confirmed that the practice of bowling a ball that bounces twice should be disallowed with immediate effect.
It is considered inappropriate for the image and spirit of our game. This applies to all competitions ECB Recreational Competitions.
Such a delivery will now be a no ball in accordance with the new playing condition below.
Non First Class Regulations and Playing Conditions, Generic Playing Condition 14, Law 24.6 is replaced by:
The umpire at the bowlers' end shall call and signal No ball if a ball which he considers to have been delivered, without having previously touched bat or person of the striker, either (i) bounces more than ONCE, or (ii) rolls along the ground before it reaches the popping crease.
This will apply in all matches in the following competitions with immediate effect - ECB Premier Leagues, the National Club Championship, Cockspur Club T20, U17 County Championship, U17, U15 & U14 County Cups and the U13 County Competition.
In the ECB U13 and NatWest U15 National Club Championships this will apply in the Regional and National Finals.
