The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games wends its way to a showpiece finals at Lord’s on Saturday March 6, and star England women's batsman Claire Taylor will be on hand to witness the action.

Eight boys and girls teams aged 13 and under have battled through February’s qualifying rounds to earn the right to play at Lord’s Indoor School and decide the winners of the 2010 Indoor Cricket Cups.

Tower Hamlets will be striving to defend the boys’ title, but defending girls’ champions Redbridge did not make it to the final eight, succumbing at the group stages in Harrow.

The London Youth Games is a season-long event involving 47,000 youngsters representing all 33 London boroughs across 30 sports. The tournament goes direct to quarter-final knockout.

Taylor, named one of Wisden’s five Cricketers of the Year in 2009, won player of the tournament at both the women’s World Cup and World Twenty20 last year.
