Somerset support blood drive
Members of the Somerset squad have taken part in the first NHS Blood and Transplant session held at the County Ground in Taunton.
Captain Marcus Trescothick and a number of his team-mates volunteered to give blood in attempt to promote donations and to support the local community.
Trescothick said: "This is the first time that the County Ground has held a blood donor session and we thought that it would be good to give as much support as we possibly could, that’s why there are so many volunteers from the squad here.”
Fast bowler Steve Kirby added: "We were all asked if we wanted to donate blood so I was only too happy to volunteer because I think it’s a very important cause and with sportsmen like us being involved it raises the awareness of the scheme."
